FREE ticketed event

We here at the museum really care about biodiversity. That's why we're excited about the 2018 City Nature Challenge. It's a chance to document the biodiversity in our community through crowdsourcing, and we hope you'll participate.

If you do, join us for a Species Identification Night, which will bring together participants in the 2018 City Nature Challenge, experts on identifying biodiversity, and a reference collection of materials from the National Museum of Natural History. We will use the collections and expertise of museum staff and the crowd to make a surge in identifying species on the last day of the CNC 2018. This will be an opportunity to share your observations, meet other participants, and get those unknown species identified.

Bring a laptop or mobile device to show your unidentified observations to experts.
